The Warehouse, Leyland

My client in this case had converted a disused industrial unit into an indoor skate park without planning permission. A noise complaint was made and my client contacted me following potential enforcement action by the local authority. As is the case with many old industrial estates units had been carved up over the years and a misunderstanding had arisen between my client and the authority’s records that lead my client to believe there was already a leisure consent in place.

There was huge support for the scheme locally as the skate park provides somewhere for local kids to hang out in the evening rather than on the streets. Thankfully retrospective planning permission was granted but the building had to be acoustically insulted to the highest level to overcome noise complaints.

Membership numbers are growing all the time as the skate park increases in popularity.
